Do Not Start Until You Have Everything On Hand
If you are planning a bathroom renovation, you already know that there are a lot of different components to consider. A modern bathroom renovation can be a time-consuming, but worthwhile undertaking and if you plan ahead, you can make it as painless as possible.
Many of the things that you need are readily available on the shelves of any home improvement store, but others may need to be ordered and take some time to arrive. If you decide to do the renovation yourself instead of using a contractor, you may be tempted to get a jump start by beginning some projects while waiting for other materials to arrive.
While this may sound like a great way to manage your time, you could actually be creating a great deal more work for yourself. If you begin one project in your renovation, you may find yourself having to re-do it, or make adjustments to it, after the rest of your materials arrive. For instance, you may paint the walls only to discover that you have to move a plumbing line, or do some rewiring. You could put in light fixtures only to find that the mirror that was on backorder was larger than you thought, forcing you to take them down and move them later. Doing the work twice will not only frustrate you, but it could also defeat your plan of an economical bathroom renovation.
Keep in mind that the longer you wait to dismantle your bathroom, the longer it will be usable. Nothing is more frustrating than beginning a remodel only to find that you have to wait weeks for items like tile or countertops to be delivered. Keeping your bathroom usable as long as possible just makes good sense.
Completing a bathroom renovation can be a lot less trouble than it sounds like if you plan ahead, and exercise a little patience while you are waiting for all of your materials to arrive.
