We engaged MC Renovation & Painting to renovate our condo including a kitchen facelift, changing floors, painting, and putting in a custom office. From the beginning Doug made sure to explain to us all our options, and was diligent at providing cost effective solutions. He was always immediately available to answer any questions and provide guidance. We never felt like he was trying to “upsell” us, just the opposite - it was clear his priority is that we would be happy with the end result.

My husband and I have just finished having our house painted as well as having new flooring installed by MC painting and renovation. We are very satisfied with the quality of the workmanship and caliber of service.

We had been planning a home refresh for quite some time but were always concerned about who we would hire as there are enough stories out there about blotched jobs and shoddy end products. This, thankfully, was not our experience with MC Painting.

I found MC painting and renovation by chance when I saw their truck parked on my street. I went to speak directly with the driver who happened to be Jason the master painter and was directed to contact Doug Cheetham the company owner. Doug replied immediately to my message and came by to provide an estimate on cost and timeline. Doug has an eye for design and helped us pick up-to-date colours that would work with our current decor. Doug is also an excellent project manager.

The scope of work started on time and completed without incident. Jason is truly a master painter and he and his fellow painter Christian painted every nook and cranny. Towards the end they were joined by Justin who ripped out the old carpet and prepped the floor. Then we met Barry and Ken who laid all the new flooring. They all worked tirelessly during a heat wave and did an excellent job.

We had no sleepless nights worrying about the project as we could quickly tell we were in good hands. We have arranged for MC painting and Renovation to do additional work in our bathrooms and kitchen in late fall. We will provide an updated review when this work is completed -- we are confident that this work will be completed to our satisfaction and the updated review will be positive.

Phase 2 reno review
We are very pleased with our recent reno (mostly bathrooms and kitchen) --- excellent workmanship.

The crew was punctual, courteous and professional. Doug had great design/product suggestions and was frequently on site. Frank is highly skilled in several trades. Justin did great at the demo and backsplash, and Jason showed once again he is a master painter

We recently needed some small jobs done around our home and I contacted Doug hoping he could help us because MC Painting and Renovation had renovated our home in 2018. We required some work on our master bathroom shower. I called a competitor that convinced us we need a full $20K reno of our modern bathroom. After calling MC Renovation, Doug came to assess what we needed. He provided a solution at about 1/15th the cost.

They were on time, on budget and the quality was above expectation. Doug provided us excellent insight and advice on our options and how to get the most out of the upgrades we needed.

I question his sanity, talking us out of spending $20K, and I will be using him for absolutely any future home renos, big or small.

Doug the owner and his crew are amazing. About 4 years ago they painted the interior and exterior of our house and now we have them back fixing up all the casings on our windows which we recently had installed by another company. Doug and Kevin are now having to make it right. Doug is extremely attentive and gets the job done. We have now recommended him to our neighbors who are very pleased with his service so far. This Company has done an amazing job on my en-suite renovation. The crew were very talented, they knew exactly what they were doing. They did everything I asked of them and gave excellent advice when I was making the wrong decisions. They showed up every morning right on the pre-arranged time, they were pleasant and respectful and made the process as easy as they possibly could for me.

I signed a Contract before the job started and it was made very clear what the expectations were on both sides. I was given a booking date and the renovation started on time. The expectations were carried out as arranged and the renovation was finished exactly when they said it would be finished. A very professional job was completed.

Had them come back and do another bathroom. Even during Covid and its associated issues Doug, Frank and Kevin handled all with aplomb. Will be engaging them once again in the Spring to do some work on the exterior of our home.

Doug and his crew did a basement renovation for us recently and the result was excellent. It was a difficult job with lower than normal ceiling height requiring a complex approach to framing and drops. Frank and Kevin did the job and they made it all work out. Doug was very hands on and had several ideas for changes that were better than what we had planned initially. The boys were punctual and very professional. We made a good choice with MC Renovation and Painting.

I’m a repeat customer of MC and would highly recommend them for any Reno work one might need. The tradesmen (Frank, Kevin and Jason) were all extremely professional, capable and easy to deal with. Work started on time each and every day, and any queries were always taken with genuine interest. We were extremely pleased with the professionalism and work on our recent bathroom renovation by MC Renovation and Painting. Doug quarterbacked the project from design to completion with great attention to detail. The project was completed on time and within the proposed budget. We very much appreciated Doug's guidance in reviewing with us beforehand and then setting up a morning, where with him, we visited different suppliers and selected the appropriate flooring, tiles, quartz countertop, toilet, and fixtures. His colleagues Frank, Dan, and Jason provided quality workmanship, were always punctual, and provided daily clean-up, and were very friendly. We recently hired MC Renovation and Painting to update and transform our 35 yr old kitchen into an open concept one with a removal of a wall. I was nervous about it all and Doug kept me calm and assured me with the decisions we made and that it would all be pulled together and look wonderful and he was right! From the design, to picking out the flooring, quartz, and tiles, Doug assisted the whole way. He keeps you well informed every step of the way so there are no surprises. I was amazed what at what they were able to do in 5 weeks to complete my kitchen and and also extend the flooring, painting , etc into the living room and front entrance. Doug and his crew ( Frank, Dan , and Jason) were all very professional and did a fantastic job from start to finish. I am thrilled with my new kitchen and only wished I did this years ago. M.C. Painting did a super job painting my house. The work was done on time and on budget. The quality of the work is excellent. In addition, while painting, a problem with the gutters over the garage was discovered; it was actually the supports for the gutters where a water leak had cause rot in the 2x4s. Doug diverted one of his carpenters from another job and fixed it the same day. Excellent work!

I am very pleased with the recent Kitchen Renovation completed by MC Painting & Renovation.
I was apprehensive about finding a contractor who would deliver quality results, on time and within budget. MC Painting & Renovation met all the criteria and more… exceptional management & communication, quality workmanship & material and punctual workers contributed to the successful completion of this project. There were some minor issues that arose after the kitchen was complete, but they were dealt with in a prompt & professional manner.

Doug has an excellent eye for colour & design. I was surprised that I selected kitchen floor tile, wall tile & counter tops in a couple of hours (with Doug’s assistance). I expected it would take more samples & shopping trips before making a decision. I then worried whether I had made the right choices until it all came together. Doug suggested to tile the wall around the window to the ceiling, which I agreed to, and to also tile inside the window return, but I somehow pictured a shower stall insert for soap/shampoo and was unsure how that would look in a kitchen. In the end I went with Doug’s recommendation & he was right… It looks great! I am very happy with the renovation & would not hesitate to hire MC Painting & Renovation again.

Doug and his team of Frank, Jason, and Justin did a fantastic job of renovating our kitchen, bathrooms, the hardwood floors and painting both the interior and exterior of our home. We were guided through the whole process from start to finish. It included defining the scope of work, brainstorming designing ideas, selecting of materials, choosing paint colors and of course the shopping excursions.

We started with an idea to renovate our main floor, and although we had many demands, the actual project was not well defined.
